How To Open Chakras

In my last post, I gave everyone a brief overview of the chakra system and the seven chakras. In this post, I would like to talk about how to open chakras and the benefits and importance of doing so. If you read my last post on the chakra system, you learned that each of the seven chakras is related to a specific mental, physical, or emotional state. When these chakras are properly opened and balanced, you feel great and at harmony with yourself, others, and everything around you. However, if even one of the chakras are not properly opened or off balance it can have a signicant negative impact.

I will give a brief example with the root chakra,

The root chakra is basically the source of security and the foundation of your life.  It brings stability among other things, and in order to learn how to open chakras it is important to start with this one.

If your root chakra is closed,  all the other chakras will remain closed as well. Think of the root chakra as the foundation of  a house. Without a strong foundation, even the slightest bit of wind could potentially bring the entire house to a collapse.

So what are some symptoms of a weak or closed root chakra? A few include but are not limited to:

  • low self esteem
  • constipation
  • a lack of security
  • lower back pain
  • depression

At this point, you may be wondering how does someone go about learning how to open chakras? Well there are many exercises specifically geared towards targeting each individual chakra. There are also other ways that include yoga, meditation, and even chanting mantras. Some of these methods are more difficult than others. It should also be noted that some of these methods are more effective than others. It can be very useful to experiment with different methods and find what works best for you.

I’ve experimented with quite a few different techniques and exercises. Through some trial and error, I’ve learned that the most effective method that works for me, is through the use of meditation with the aid of chakra frequencies recordings .

I believe for beginners just starting to learn how to open chakras, this is a great place to start. You simply find a quiet place, where you can sit comfortably, then play the audio on your computer or Ipod and concentrate on the frequency. It works great and you will feel the effects immediately! Do not be alarmed if when you open your eyes, you see bits of colored lights for about a minute. This happened to me, and is just a result of your chakras activating.

Advanced practitioners will benefit from it as well. If you have been practicing other methods, adding the use of chakra frequencies can take your training to the next level.

For the highest quality chakra frequencies, I highly recommend PowerOfChakra.com . They have chakra frequency audio for each of the seven chakras that you can download immediately and start opening your chakras today !

A Chakra is a sanksrit word that literally translates as "wheel" or "disk".  It is a eastern concept of Indian origin that chakras are treated as "energy vortexes", and their sacred balance is crucial to our physical, mental, emotional, and spritual well being.  There are a total of 7 chakras in the actual chakra system. Each of these seven chakras, are located in different areas of the body. I will not go into too much detail about each chakra in this post. Instead, in the near future I am going to writing seperate posts for each chakra and go into detail about what each of their purposes are.  However, here is a list of the seven chakras with their locations and a brief description of what they are responsible for.

  1. Sahasrara/The Crown Chakra: Located at the top of the head. The crown chakra is linked to understanding, cosmic consciousness, and ability to eventually achieve enlightenment.

  2. Ajna/The Third Eye Chakra: Located at the middle of the forehead.  The third eye chakra is directly linked to an individual’s clairvoyance or psychic abilities and intuition.

  3. Vishuddha/The Throat Chakra: Located at the throat. A person with a strong and balanced throat chakra will have good communication skills and creativity.

  4. Anahata/The Heart Chakra: Located at the center of the chest, a person with a healthy heart chakra will have a strong ability to love his or herself as well as others.  It is also the center of hope and compassion.

  5. Manipura/The Solar Plexus Chakra: Located at the solar plexus. This chakra is the center of  energy, vitality, desire, and power.

  6. Svadisthana/The Sacral Chakra: Located just below the belly button. This chakra is the source of emotions, sexuality, and intimacy.

  7. Muladhara/The Root Chakra: Located at the base of the spine. This is where your survival instinct comes from. It is also a source of security and grounding.

There you have it, like I said I will go into more detail about each of the seven chakras eventually. I hope this has given you at least a brief overview of the chakras. In my next post I am going to go talk about how to properly open these chakras and balance them. By doing so, you will immediately notice a stronger sense of well being, peace, and empowerment.
